The nuclear energy is one of major issues between McCain and Obama. On that issue i agree with candidate McCain, because nuclear energy is one of main inventions throught out 20th and 21st century and i think it has to be used properly. Only disaster in Chernobyl, shouldnt prevent of creating new Nuclear power plants, but should encourage them to create safer environment.
Candidate B. Obamas position on this issue is that, he only approves unsing nuclear power as a energy mix but not as one of main sources of energy. His arguements are that its not safe and requires big government subsides. Senator J. McCain opposes him with arguements, like expirience he've had during serving in Navy. Also McCain has exact plan of achieving his goal and as he mentioned, in 2030, USA will be home for 100 nuclear power plants and will distribute enough energy for country.
As I've mentioned before, I agree with McCain on this issue and as seen during my research, according to Timeforchange.org, nuclear power generation does emit relatively low amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2). The emissions of green house gases and therefore the contribution of nuclear power plants to global warming is therefore relatively little.
In conclusion, I think Obama should consider this option, if he does become president of U.S. of America.
